Privacy Policy for HM Comment Chrome Extension
HM Comment is a Chrome extension that generates AI-powered comment suggestions for LinkedIn posts.
Data Collection and Use
The extension processes the following information:
- LinkedIn post content visible to the user
- Visible comments on the post
- Author name of the post
- User-configured preferences such as webhook URL, tone, and optional user name
This data is used solely to generate comment suggestions.
Data Processing
When the extension is used, post content is sent to a user-configured webhook endpoint for processing.
Depending on the user’s setup, this webhook may use external AI services (such as OpenRouter) to generate responses.
The extension itself does not directly send data to third-party services.
Data Storage
The extension stores the following locally using Chrome storage:
- Webhook URL
- Tone preference
- Optional user name
No LinkedIn content is stored by the extension.
Data Sharing
The extension does not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
Data is only transmitted to the user-configured webhook for the purpose of generating comment suggestions.
Security
The extension does not execute remote scripts or download external code. It only sends and receives text data.
